Will I lose weight with the PREP GUIDE?
Because you’re just preparing in the two weeks of the PREP GUIDE, you won’t fully be cutting out sugar, so losing weight isn’t that likely. If you decide to join the 10 Day Sugar Cleanse program, weight loss will depend on whether you’re already at your ideal balanced weight or not. Most people lose weight on the program if they’re carrying excess weight and/or belly fat. The menu plans don’t restrict calories, and the food you’ll be eating is very healthy, full of good fats, protein and fibre.
What if I'm allergic or intolerant to certain foods?
The sample recipes in the PREP GUIDE (and the menu plans in the 10 Day Sugar Cleanse) avoid most of the common allergens such as gluten, dairy, shellfish and soy. In the PREP GUIDE there are eggs in one of the recipes which can be substituted. There are also tree nuts in one of the recipes which can be substituted or avoided. I follow a paleo/vegetarian/vegan diet, will I be able to do the PREP GUIDE?
If you eat a true paleo diet you’ll already be eating low sugar, so you probably won’t need the PREP GUIDE! You can jump straight into the 10 Day Sugar Cleanse program. If you’re vegetarian or vegan, all the recipes in the PREP GUIDE sample menu are dairy free. However, there are eggs and salmon in two of the recipes so there are also vegetarian and vegan options to allow you to adapt them to suit you.
Can I do this PREP GUIDE if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
Short answer is yes. The PREP GUIDE is simply a series of steps to help you reduce your sugar and inflammatory foods intake. You still choose what you eat and when.
However, before you join the 10 Day Sugar Cleanse program please check in with your health professional. The recipes in the program are very rich in nutrients and all the meals contain a balance of healthy fats, proteins, fibre and naturally occurring carbohydrates. However, pregnant and breastfeeding woman naturally need more calories so it may not be suitable for your needs. If you decide to do this 10 Day Sugar Cleanse you may want to consider increasing portion sizes and adding extra protein to some of the salads and smoothies.
